I've put the DEV build of bukkit on. It seems to be running OK, but I can not guaranty stability. Some commands have changed and more will be coming. I want to move from where the server was to a more survival based experience. I know some of you are going to gripe, but to be honest, I do not care.

Future Updates - Minecraft

According to jeb_ on Twitter Minecraft will issues updates weekly. Regardless of the stability. I'm not sure if this is just minecraft.jar or minecraft_server.jar or both even. We will see also how this effects bukkit. No word yet as of this post. I will keep updated.

But the good news, not that any of that is bad, is the "invalid key" issue is fixed. Thanks MOJANG!

Seed Sunday - Scavnger Hunt - Humble Bundle

I'm taking ideas on what seed we should use for this upcoming Sunday. There is some info on what a seed is on the wiki, and you can find user submitted seeds with some info on the forums. So pick a good one, or even if you don't know the result, I would be OK with funny phrases, or names. Just leave them in the comments and we will work out the rest.

Scavenger Hunt

I've also been working on adding hidden Scavenger Hunt items. All will appear similar to the image above. Some have puzzles or other fun stuff [traps] associated to them. When you find one, take a screenshot much like the one above. It would be nice if you pressed F5 and got yourself in the image. I will put the image on the site and maybe work on some IRL prizes. After you get the screenshot, feel free to take the items inside the chest. Or if you like leave the loot or add some of your own. Please do not destroy the area.

Last thing I wanted to talk about was the Humble Bundle. What is it? It's a great place to get some cool games and help out developers, charities, or the humble org. Best part is you pay what you want and divide the money how you want.

Busy busy busy

With the official release of Minecraft, like many of you, I've been busy catching up an all the great new stuff to do in Minecraft. All the new features are great, but the game is rather buggy for me. Both the server and the client ae running poorly. I'm sure it will be sorted out, so no worries. All bugs can be reported HERE.

So I built a house and am trying to get used to the new potions and enchantments. I like everything mojang has added. Still hate enderman giefing my stuff though. I also picked up a copy of Minecraft PE for my iPad2. It's rather limited but it's to be updated, so I'm sure it will be a great addition.

Bukkit should be updated here in a few days. It may take longer depending on how often Minecraft is updated. In a perfect world all our plugins should work. I will do my best to get the server back open to all.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention I'm going to be adding Seed Sundays. I or you will pick a seed and the server will be stuck on that seed all day. On Monday the server will go back to 'normal'.

MineCON Minecraft 1.0

Today is the day! Finally Minecraft is offically released. Here in a few minutes Markus Persson @Notch will step onto the stage at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and give the keynote speech. So after or during, Minecraft will be released.

Shortly after the release I'll put up the server with Minecraft 1.0!!

Fun Mode

But according to the bukkit team the wait for a working build will not be long. The whole team will be at MineCON in a booth updating craftbukkit live. Very awesome! I'm hugely jealous and wish I could go to MineCON. But I will be watching it all on IGN.

Minecraft 1.9 Pre-Release 6

Jeb recently released another iteration of 1.9 Pre-Release, which you can get right here. Included in this release are dragons, the "endgame" and bug-fixes for all bugs listed here marked with an "F". One new bug that came with the release is that wooden doors need redstone to open right now, but don't worry! It is a bug, and it is getting fixed. Give the new pre-release a spin here! Server hosts wishing to run 1.9.6 PR can get the server file right here.

Minecraft 1.0 - Bukkit - Cowboy

The Minecraft 1.0 Update
Some users were asking about the update of Minecraft from beta to 1.0. If you want notch talks some about it on his tumlr. As for this server we will updating straight away and the server will be whitelist access. The only users on the whitelist are [Mod]'s and up. Sorry [Reg]'s and all guests. Also bad news for everyone and your stuff. The map will be new, all new. Same seed 'LandofMoore'. We can import your stuff if you like.
Why all this?
When Minecraft goes from beta to full version the world generators will be configured different and to better utilize Minecraft 1.0 I feel starting new is the way to go. I've talked to most of the long time regulars and this is the best course of action. If your not too keen on this idea I can work with you within reason.
@jeb_ says Minecraft will have updates after 1.0 release, but any huge feature expansions may require additional money. That is unless you have an alpha key.

I'm sure the bukkit team will have bukkit up and running in no time. They already have a dev for 1.9 pre5. it only took them a few hours. Interesting to see how the bug fixes effect the modders.
Until they do the server will stay whitelisted.

Found out who built the cowboy. It was wiffel. He has changed it into Chuck Norris.

People have been asking about client side mods, and 'hacks'. I will allow fly mods, and you can use others as long as they do not effect our blocks or lag out the server. This will get you banned for sure. Also any other malicious activity. Let's just enjoy this great game.
